My name is Nicole Wolf! I was born and raised in Dallas, Texas. I graduated high school from Ursuline Academy of Dallas, and I am currently a junior at Texas State University. I’m working toward my bachelor’s degree in journalism with a minor in business. My goal is to work as a photographer for a music magazine or to become a freelance concert photographer. I am currently the assistant multimedia director for KTSW 89.9 in San Marcos, Texas.
I found my passion for photography when I was a junior in high school. We were required to take an art credit and I wanted to challenge myself. My mom had recently purchased a DSLR camera, so I asked to borrow it for a photography class. The second I picked up the camera to shoot my first assignment, I knew that photography was what I was meant to do. I fell in love with the feeling of capturing that perfect moment that you had been waiting for. I’ve always had a passion for music and that medium of storytelling, so my dream would be to combine music and photography to become a concert photographer.
When I’m not busy with school or photography, I spend my days with my dog Harley. She is a 2-year-old Catahoula leopard dog mix. I rescued Harley from an animal shelter when she was only four months old. I treat Harley as if she was my real child; I spoil her and give her all the attention she wants. I grew up taking care of family dogs, so I knew what a huge responsibility it is. What I didn’t realize, was how much more challenging it was going to be while in college. That’s what inspired this blog! I want other college students to understand what it takes to care for a dog, before they get a dog themselves. I hope this site accurately shows that dogs are worth the challenges and that the pros outweigh the cons.
